9.19.12 Tonight’s show was the show that almost wasn’t. The Keswick Theater has 1200 seats but we are a baby band, and baby bands don’t usually get 1200 asses in the seats on a Wednesday night in Glenside, Pennsylvania. The promoter wasn’t gonna cover his costs cause we only sold 300 tickets. Now 300 people in a club would be a hell of a great accomplishment for us and make for a rocking evening (like last night at the Rams Head), but it would probably look pretty small in the Keswick. We suggested finding a smaller venue so the 300 could still get a healthy dose of Blue Sky Riders, but one could not be found. Guess what? 300 people tonight felt and sounded like 1200. We had a ball! This was show number five, I think… Every show gets a little smoother….the patter a little faster….the mistakes a little less embarrassing.

On bus now for a night drive to New Hampshire. Staying away from the pizza and chicken wings so I can get a good nights sleep. I think we are back in a club tomorrow night. I really should look at the book. Someone went to a lot of trouble to print it.
