“Judge not, lest ye be judged” Who am I kidding? I’m a judgin’ fool.

At least I try to only judge myself. This may sound just a hair shy of OCD… but I really try to do each show perfect. You leave a little room for spontaneity, of course… but mostly you shoot for perfect. I am usually happy to hit 80% but tonight… I was, dare I say, a bit flawed. Yes, folks… there were flaws. Tiny, nearly imperceptible flaws… but like wrinkles on Christie Brinkley… you gotta look close, but they’re there. (more…)

I am so tired. So very tired. People say that the road is a young man’s game. I am considered a young man if an average man’s life expectancy is two thousand years.

I am sitting on the couch of the bus, driving to the hotel (thankfully only about a half hour away) after a Blue Sky Riders show in Newport Beach, CA. I am currently collapsing in a big tub of tired. (more…)

Every once in a great while when you are “working”…. something happens that reminds you why you started doing what you do in the first place. A little moment when you say, “Oh yeah. THIS is why I put the time and effort in.” A couple of nights ago we played a private show in a club in Sundance, Utah, and I had one of those epiphanies. (more…)

I thought I had done the strangest, most chaos inspiring gig in Palm Springs a few weeks ago. It’s taken me till now to recover and pick the lock on the woodshed. Apparently there was plenty of weird to come. I am sitting in Santa Cruz, CA after a show that, quite frankly, made our last show seem like a Carnegie Hall teamsters show. (more…)
