We love to keep all of you up to date on what we are doing. The upside to writing newsletters is keeping you all engaged in our music and, frankly, it’s a small price to pay to pay you all back for your dedication and interest.

There is a downside, however.
Every time we write a newsletter for Blue Sky Riders we get a lot of questions.

“How come you aren’t on tour?”
“Are you done?”
“Is your second record out?”
“Is Gary all right? He looks pale.” (more…)

Happy New Year!

A big internet “Hello” to all you Blue Sky Rider fans! (hanging in there, are you?)
The holidays have passed, but we thought a nice family newsletter might satisfy your curiosity about all things Blue, Sky or Rider.

Great news!! Kenny has just signed a long term contract being the “Official Troubadour” for the Barnum and Bailey Circus, our nation’s longest running… wait. What? Really? Sh*t.

Actually, Kenny has been playing shows all over this great land of ours, appearing frequently as “Kenny Loggins of Blue Sky Riders.” He is also going to appear at a tribute to Aretha Franklin in New York City in March, with Melissa Ethridge, Ann Wilson and Todd Rundgren. He just finished a successful book tour for his new children’s book, Footloose, and will be appearing at the Sundance Film Festival. Also… did you catch him on Daryl’s House on TV? That was cool, right?

Georgia is finishing work on a solo jazz CD of all original material. It is fabulous. Gary plays a guest solo on flugelhorn on one of the songs. (Spoiler alert: He rocks!!)

Georgia and Gary are hosting their songwriter show – Nashville to New York – in NYC on March 2nd with Pat Alger and Sarah Buxton as their special guests.

Middleman/Burr will be playing a show in Austin, Texas at The Stateside at The Paramount on April 5th, 2017. You can get tickets here!

Gary’s big news is that he is putting out three FREE videos on songwriting. Each one deals with a different part of the craft to help you write better, more sellable songs!! Go to writeyourbestsong.com to watch the first free video. I can’t stress “free” enough.

If you’d rather get up close and personal, sign up for Gary’s next Nashville Songwriting Masterclass on April 21-23, 2017.

Blue Sky Riders is still in negotiations with a large, very clean organization that might just help them reach a wider (but never more faithful or cuter) audience. Those of you lucky enough to already have our second CD, Why Not …we thank you for your support from the bottoms of our sweetmeats. For those of you who just said, “What? A second CD?”….go to our website at blueskyridersband.com and buy it. No one is stopping you. Yet.

One last thought: Traveling the country and playing shows for all of you has been one of the most fun things three people could do that doesn’t involve shag carpeting and smoking jackets. We can’t wait to do it again.

Thanks Giving

Little Victories

When times get so emotionally tough that it feels like it’s impossible to get through them … somehow you do. Sometimes it’s about doing all you can to just get through the night. Inch by inch, day by day, you slowly discover you’re moving forward. (more…)
