9.26.12 They sure make things complicated here in NYC. We couldn’t do a soundcheck for our second show… we had to stop early for another show at 10… interesting parameters. It was total trust in our crew that we would walk onto the stage and it would sound great in the room and in our earpieces and they did NOT let us down. We shaved a little off the show but I know that the crowd got its money’s worth. (more…)

9.25. 12 We are here in New York City all week playing the Feinstein room. This is a very classy, very famous cabaret room. We have been worried the whole tour about this gig. It is a small stage… a small place… a very small PA. We considered a lot of options… play with just the three acoustic guitars (our band would then sit idle in New Jersey all week getting into all kinds of legal trouble) or strip down and come up with all new arrangements and do an “Unplugged” version of our show (tough one… (more…)

9.22.12 When the entire audience is composed of people you went to high school with it is very hard to stand on stage and act like a rock star. Hard, but not impossible. Tonight we played Infinity Hall in Norfolk, CT, and it was close enough to my home town to make it feel like my reunion. We have been looking forward to this venue for a long time. The word was that it was fabulous and had an amazing sound system and the word was dead on in every respect. This building was a dance hall built so long ago that Mark Twain actually performed there. And now….Blue Sky Riders. Now THAT is an eclectic establishment.
